Opening Announcement

Members,

FINALLY! We can open our pool based on Montgomery County capacity restrictions. Our capacity within our property will be 200. Please review the county press release.

The DRA Board assembled this evening and we are thankful that we prepared as we did, and that most of you have paid your dues putting us in a position to open.

There is still a lot to do between now and Friday, June 19th at 5pm, but we will be open at 5pm!

Friday will be lap swim only from 5pm-9pm. Saturday at 12 noon, the competition pool and the main pool will be open. Sorry, no baby pool. If you plan to lap swim on Friday, please email me as we are only allowed 1 person per lane. If the interest is high, we will need to create timeslots.

Details will be coming out over the next 72 hours. We have a lot to do between now and then.

Some things that we do know:

  • There will be one entrance and one exit to avoid cross traffic
  • Masks will need to be worn upon entry
  • Check-in will be required
  • A waiver will need to be signed
  • Guests will not be allowed during capacity restrictions times. Phase 3 may relieve that.
  • Pool chairs will not be placed out. You will need to bring your own chairs
  • There will be marked sectioned areas for members to sit and socially distance
  • There will be a period in the day in which all members need to leave (60 minutes) such that Georgetown Aquatics can conduct a pool sanitizing and cleaning of surfaces, bathrooms, etc.…
  • Weekends will be broken into 2 sessions on Saturday and Sunday and members in good standing will be able to reserve “a” weekend session. Possibly two sessions. We need to see the numbers as they come in. Most likely 12-4 pm and 5-9 pm with 4-5 pm being the cleaning time.

We are still gaining understanding on the diving board, slide, corn-hole, tetherball, and other pool amenities. Water Aerobics will be allowed so we plan to start that ASAP.

If you have not paid you dues; please stop up to the pool tomorrow at 5pm to do so, as you will not be able to participate in the reservation system for the upcoming weekend.

Please have patience with this pool board and Georgetown Aquatics as we manage through this. This is new to all of us. Your safety is always our #1 priority.

Let us enjoy this summer. We could all use it.Cool
